En este video, filmado vivo en estudio CAN TV como parte de Lit & Luz Festival 2019 Chicago, Diana del Angel, basada en México y autora de Procesos de la noche, habla con activistas basados en Chicago, Laura J. Ramirez, cofundadora de el Justicia en Ayotzinapa Comité Chicago, y muralista Roberto Ferreyra. La conversación, moderada por periodista Mago Torres, considera el asesino de estudiante Julio César Mondragón, la desaparición de 43 de sus compañeros estudiantes de la Escuela Normal Raúl Isidro Burgos de Ayotzinapa, y la continua búsqueda de la verdad por familia y participantes en México y EE. UU. En medio de la discusión de la violencea sancionasa por el estado, los cuatro participantes contemplan el papel que juega la imaginación en transformando solidaridad a traves de las fronteras y cómo la marginación connecta a las personas.

This event will move between Spanish and English and through the theme, “(Anti-)Static” or “Motion,” explore the contexts in which both Chicago and Mexico City exist. MAKE Literary Productions introduces the inaugural Lit & Luz Festival with the theme of "Archive," featuring Valeria Luiselli, Luis Felipe Fabre, Susana Iglesia, Brenda Lozano, Luis Felipe Fabre, Aguillón-Mata, Verónica Gerber Bicecci, Alejandro Almanza Pereda, Daniel Borzutzky, Mauricio Tenorio, Moira Pujols, Tania Candiani, Joel Craig, Kirsten Leenaars, Kathleen Rooney, Fred Sasaki, Marvin Tate, Irvine Welsh, Adam Burke, Ruth Guerra. Through readings, performances, visual art, and the 2014 theme “Archive,” the participants will explore both Chicago and Mexico City’s historical contexts; how we document our lives and our culture in a digital age; and translation between language and artistic mediums.
