Jordan Hicks
Jordan Hicks is an architect and writer based in Chicago. He is interested in the ways that architecture can simultaneously communicate ideas and create immersive environments. His writing has appeared in journals The Avery Review, MONU, PLAT, Dimensions, Avery Shorts and the collection Midwest Architecture Journeys (Belt Publishing, 2019). Through his writing, Jordan has examined indigenous mounds in the Midwest, explored John Portman’s Renaissance Center in Detroit, proposed a megastructure in Brazil, studied buildings that induce feelings of dread, and questioned intersections of Minimalism and labor. All these studies, in whole or in part, involve an appreciation for clear and simple geometric forms. Jordan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Washington University in St Louis and a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan, where he was awarded the Saarinen-Swanson Writing Prize. He is a Project Architect at Studio Gang, where he led the construction administration efforts on MIRA, a high rise in San Francisco. He is currently working on the design for the new O’Hare Global Terminal and also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology. His independent practice is called Orders Architecture and Design
Jordan Hicks es arquitecto y escritor, y radica en Chicago. Él se interesa en las formas en las que la arquitectura puede comunicar simultáneamente ideas y crear ambientes inmersivos.
