EN DOS DIRECCIONES A LA VEZ : Un taller de traducción creativa

Descripción: Este taller bilingüe (español-inglés) explorará las zonas limítrofes entre la escritura literaria y la traducción. Examinaremos nociones como transcreación, apropiación y reescritura. A través de distintos ejercicios, indagaremos en las múltiples posibilidades de escritura que se ofrecen cuando se parte de textos escritos en otras lenguas. En esta ocasión, trabajaremos con el tránsito inglés-español.
Objetivo general: El objetivo de este taller consistirá en la producción de un texto nuevo a partir del trabajo sobre un texto ajeno, perteneciente a una lengua distinta.
Materiales: Papel y útiles de escritura.
Requisitos: Conocimiento, aunque sea superficial, de las dos lenguas con las que trabajaremos.
IN TWO DIRECTIONS AT ONCE: A Creative Translation Workshop

Description: This bilingual (Spanish-English) workshop will explore the border areas between literary writing and translation. We will examine notions such as transcreation, appropriation and rewriting. Through different exercises, we will investigate the multiple writing possibilities that are offered when we start creating from texts written in another languages.
General objective: The objective of this workshop will be the production of a new text based on work on a foreign text that comes from a different language.
Materials: Paper and writing utensils.
Requirements: Knowledge, even superficial, of the two languages with which we will work.
Ensayos del yo: memoria y artificio: Un taller creativo

Descripción: A partir de la obra de escritoras como Sei Shonagon, Natalia Ginzburg, Margarita García Robayo y Annie Ernaux, entre otras, exploraremos los pedregosos territorios de la “escritura del yo” y pondremos en tensión algunas nociones usualmente asociadas a este tipo de literatura: memoria, ficción, verdad, personaje y subjetividad.
Objetivo general: Que los talleristas conozcan, de primera mano, algunas de las influencias que han marcado la escritura autobiográfica y la manera en que esta tradición ha avanzado a lo largo de la historia. Al finalizar el taller, cada uno habrá escrito un breve texto desde este punto de vista para ejercitar las herramientas aprendidas durante la sesión.
Materiales: La primera sesión los talleristas deben llevar una fotografía de su infancia. Además, se enviará por correo electrónico el material de lectura. Se recomienda llevar cuaderno y pluma.
Requisitos: Los talleristas deben leer los textos antes de la sesión.
Essays of the self: memory and artifice: a creative workshop

Description: Based on the work of writers such as Sei Shonagon, Natalia Ginzburg, Margarita García Robayo and Annie Ernaux, among others, we will explore the rocky territories of the “writing of the self.” We will put into tension some notions usually associated with this type of literature: memory, fiction, truth, character and subjectivity.
General objective: To get know some of the influences that have marked autobiographical writing and the ways in which this tradition has advanced throughout history. At the end of the workshop, each participant will have written a short text from this point of view to exercise the tools learned during the session.
Materials: For the first session, workshop participants must bring a photograph of their childhood. Additionally, reading material will be sent by email. It is recommended to bring a notebook and pen.
Requirements: Workshop participants must read the texts before the session.
PROLIFERACIÓN DE INTENSIDADES
UN TALLER DE ESCRITURA

Descripción: A partir de diversas estrategias los participantes explorarán formas de plantearse los procesos creativos usando “elementos mínimos”. De esta forma podrán desarrollar su intuición como escritrxs y lo que esta autora denomina como “una escritura de intensidades”.
Objetivo general: Al finalizar el taller los participantes habrán producido una forma de abordar creativamente un “tema personal”, a través del cual desarrollarán una “escritura de intensidades” usando elementos mínimos, como recortes de periódico, búsquedas de internet, textos propios.
Aviso: Este taller será enteramente en español.
Materiales: revistas, recortes de periódico, búsquedas de internet, textos propios.
Libreta personal y material de escritura.
PROLIFERATION OF INTENSITIES: A WRITING WORKSHOP

Description: Through various strategies, participants will explore ways to activate their creative processes using minimal elements. In this way they will be able to develop their intuition as writers, as well as as develope what the author calls “a writing of intensities.”
General objective: At the end of the workshop, participants will have produced a way to creatively address a “personal topic,” in which they will explore the writiong of the intensities of such topic, using minimal elements, such as newspaper clippings, internet searches, and their own texts.
NOTE: This workshop will fully be in Spanish.
Materials: magazines, newspaper clippings, internet searches, own texts.
Requirements: attend the entire session, punctuality and active participation.
