The ninth annual edition of the Lit & Luz Festival is proud to co-present the festival’s signature program, the Live Magazine Show, with the Logan Center for the Arts. Each year, Lit & Luz supports the creation of new collaborative artworks between writers, visual artists, and musicians from Chicago and Mexico. Through six collaborative teams featuring

  • Aura Arreola (MX) and Gabriel Ojeda-Sagué (US)

  • Balam Bartolomé (MX) and Antonio Díaz Oliva (ADO) (US)

  • Dolores Dorantes (MX), Robin Myers (MX), and Amber Ginsburg (US)

  • Héctor Jiménez Castillo (MX) and Marty McConnell (US)

  • Mariana Oliver (MX) and Laleh Motlagh (US)

  • yolanda segura (MX) and Victoria Martinez (US)

  • With musical director Andy Slater (US) and special guests, Stephanie Alma and Tommy Carroll


Audiences will be treated to live storytelling, music, poetry, video art, and extemporaneous performances that explore the relationship between the languages, art forms, social issues, and cultures of the United States and Mexico through the theme “Revision.”

Ambassador Reyna Torres Mendivil, Consul General of Mexico in Chicago, will provide opening remarks at the event.

Presented in partnership with the Logan Center for the Arts, the Mexican Consulate in Chicago, Vocalo, and the Museo Universitario del Chopo, and UIC's Center for Latinx Literature of the Americas.

La novena edición anual del Festival Lit & Luz se enorgullece de presentar el evento principal del programa, el Live Magazine Show con el Logan Center for the Arts.
